Gaststätte Schlossterrassen in Wernigerode

Conditions was very quick. The ice cream and coffee were not that tasty. It would only have been two stars. Since the view is very beautiful here, it has three stars.

When we visited the castle in Wernigerode last weekend, we stopped at the Schlossterrassen restaurant. Originally we wanted to take a seat outside on the beautiful terrace with the wonderful view over Wernigerode, but the outside area was closed quite early (around 5 p.m.). When entering the guest room, a sign at the entrance asks the guest to wait in the entrance area in order to be assigned a table by the staff. Disinfectants were also available in the entrance area. We didn't wait long and were assigned a nice table. The interior of the restaurant is very tastefully decorated - with a kind of winter garden, in which you sit at a glass front that allows a wonderful view of Wernigerode. The interior is generously designed so that the necessary distances can be maintained in Corona times. The range of food and drinks is not outstanding, but perfectly okay, as are the prices. Everything was clean and tidy, the staff was neither friendly nor unfriendly. All in all, when visiting the castle, you can definitely stop here and linger a little.

Our waitress, Mrs. Kohl, was a very friendly and good waitress from the beginning to the end of our stay. The order was: Chicken strips with curry sauce and noodles (€ 12 per portion) and a large Fanta drink If we had known beforehand what kind of plate we would get 🍽, we would have ordered it once and eaten with the second 😅. In any case, see picture it was a spacious kitchen and since it tasted very good, I'll definitely eat here again next time.

We were here today on October 21, 2020 and wanted to drink coffee. Getting a table was not a problem. The coffee and waffles were delicious. The service left a lot to be desired in terms of friendliness, and the serving procedure took some getting used to, sometimes the plates were served over the heads of the guests. When we took our order, we were greeted with the words "I've already seen you" and we were just looked at from the side. The mouth and nose protection was sometimes not worn at all or only under the nose.

Very friendly and nice service and the food was great. Everything was perfect, I can only recommend it.

We were there on a Saturday. It was full and the service was always friendly and attentive. Now the little one: It is tough to ask for € 18 blueberry smear schnitzel with 6 small croquettes and a little salad. Tomato sauce with the noodles tasted like a finished product. Noodles were also almost cold and sloppy. In itself a very nice restaurant with a great view and you certainly pay for it properly. We'll come back anyway and then just try another dish.

Visited the cafe on 09/05/20. Out of necessity because my better half had hypoglycaemia. I just asked for something to go, as it was very full. The waitress of a Maria.F was more than courteous, she ran off immediately and brought a Coke for my partner. We got a seat and ordered ice cream for me and my daughter and a waffle for my partner. The nut cup was more than just filled, and not with a few hazelnuts, as described below, but with different types and plenty of them. My daughter's surprise mug was covered with plenty of smarties and two large scoops of ice cream and cream. And my partner's waffle had enough of everything. There was a good tip for Maria, for her understanding that people are helped when they have a concern and, in general, many thanks again from us. In places I can't understand the people here, the prices are in the normal range, the waitresses make the best possible out of the whole rush of people and if some are a little stressed, I can understand them. But I also honestly say with many, the tone makes the music, if you are sluggish yourself, you shouldn't be surprised. And with us it was also very good with the child-friendliness.

So honestly I can't share the bad reviews from others. Not only was the view outstanding, but also the food. The service was normally friendly.

Uncomplicated reservation, a very nice terrace and a great view. In addition, very tasty and rich food. The service was very quick, we had our meal in under 20 minutes. The prices are not cheap, but reasonable. Highly recommended for relaxing on vacation.

We were there today for our wedding anniversary and it was just beautiful. The food was delicious, served quickly and the staff is very accommodating too. The view is also beautiful, we can only recommend it, thank you very much for this lovely afternoon. :)

Top view. Unfortunately we weren't served because it was raining, and we weren't allowed to buy drinks inside or take them outside. Unfriendly staff. Toilet costs € 1. No hygiene concept, the waitress doesn't wear a mask and there wasn't even soap on the toilet (then why 1 euro?).

We were seated at 1730. The greeting took place in the form of a harsh "there is nothing more we are going to end now" After reference to the opening times (until 6:00 p.m.) there was the note "yes, and today we will close a little earlier" On the last desperate question whether we really don't get any more beer, the resolute service let itself be softened and smacked us a joyless "but only small fast" (we had nothing else in mind) from then on it was a nice 15min ☺️ It's a shame, the store seems to have potential, but one of the waitresses had somehow idiosyncratically interpreted the topic of "guest care" ... 🤔 We'll try again next time.

VERY rude staff (with the exception of the young man who brings the drinks) and not at all service-oriented. You could feel the bad working atmosphere and just didn't feel welcome from start to finish. We did not come to order food or were not even asked. Goes next door to the gunsmith there are very nice and courteous people.

We reserved a table by phone and walked the long way there. When we arrived there we were told that there was no food. You could have said that when making the reservation ... No waitress came after we ordered a drink. Unfortunately I cannot give a recommendation!

The view is insanely relaxing and mesmerizing. The food tastes good and the prices are probably due to the rent. The only drawback to our visit: If the waitress has ignored you for 10 minutes and then wants to instruct Corona, then you should do it sensibly. An old cloth soaked in water does not help to remove "viruses" from previous guests.

I can only recommend this restaurant. Not just the short waiting time, but above all the patient willingness to provide information about additives and allergens. Even though the store was full. Very nice, happy service, toilets clean. Portions just right, leftovers were packed, of course. That was the best restaurant visit of the whole vacation!

The best and nicest service has been a long time! The menu was nice and clear and everything we ordered was very quick and delicious. Simply great, especially with the view!

Food is delicious, but the service is impossible. We wanted to move the tables and then it was said in a mean tone that this is not possible and that in scream. When I wanted water, I got sparkling water.

Very nice view. Super delicious hot food. The eye could definitely eat with it. I can only recommend it. Staff was also very friendly.

I was totally disappointed with the service, why? My 4 year old son flipped over and hit his head against the wall. I ran to service and asked for ice. What did the waitress answer me? There is no ice unless I order a drink (water/ice tea/coffe). I said I need this ice to put it on my son's head not a drink. She still refused. I don't believe that there is no ice in such a place. I do not recommend this place, the views can be admired next door.

We celebrated our wedding in the wintergarden of the cafe with excellent service throughout the day and into the evening. The Canape's, cake, and dinner were all very delicious. We had excellent feedback from our guests about the whole experience and they raved about the food and atmosphere. Truly wonderful experience on the biggest celebration of our lives. It also helped that we had great weather with beautiful views over to the Brocken Peak. Thanks so much to make this day perfect for us.

Great Apfel strudel, and they take credit cards from 20 euros :)
